Shadowing letters forming
The thoughts, numbering
Near the millions,
.
But always one is standing
First in line, demanding
I acknowledge,
.
You, dearest, and our love
Filling full our lives
And my wordy mind.
Shadowing letters forming
The thoughts, numbering
Near the millions,
.
But always one is standing
First in line, demanding
I acknowledge,
.
You, dearest, and our love
Filling full our lives
And my wordy mind.
Temporary happiness and
Eternal joy
Mixed together
Like cream in my teacup.
.
Seasonal wonderment and
Constant fascination
Mingled together
Like a pine turned Christmas tree.
.
So it is with you and
Me.
Put together
Like God knows what He’s doing.
Perhaps there comes a point
When the excitement
Ends.
But as of yet, just seeing you again
Makes my heart louder,
My smile stronger
And my goodbyes linger.
The loon’s solitary cry
Called to my mind
What is, now, a faint kind
Of memory-
For I have never felt lonely
Since you.
Our love is not a business plan,
They are not the CEO;
Our love is not a weary man,
They are not a bed at home;
Our love is not a mountain hike,
They are not the trail;
Our love is not a ring-sized fight
And they are not the bell.
Our love is a wildflower
Dancing free in zephyr and sun;
Our love is the tallest tower
Standing after battles won;
Our love is the humble rain
Of springtime, come again;
Our love is ours.
They may not chain.
Our love is ours,
They may not name.
Our love is ours
As theirs is theirs- the same.
Our love is ours,
They have no claim.
Love has won out
And we are the evidence:
A case file of happiness,
An argument for hope.
Let me not forget
The rhythm of your breath
And why it was that I
First fell in love with it.
.
Let me not forget
Our dearest moments together
Or why within my mind
They’re the memories I so treasure.
.
Let me not forget
The outbursts of your laugh
And why I first decided
To live to hear it gasp.
.
Let me not forget
The simplicity of us
Or why inside my life
You became a must.
.
Let me not forget
The pieces of myself
That you so patiently patched
And brought back to health.
.
And let me not forget
The frustration and fights
That proved to me more
You are a once-in-a-lifetime life.
.
Let me not forget
The imperfections we have
Nor the hope of love
And the love we give.
.
Let me never forget
That you are the reason
Why I believe, steadfastly,
That love will always win.
Sunlight speckles
In your golden green eyes
Still and mesmerize
The oceans in mine.
As he swept her bangs back
He cleaned the worries from her mind,
As when a cloudy day
Is suddenly flood with sunshine.
The idea that lay foremost
In the orbit of her mind
Was how inside a whole eternity
One could study his green eyes
And
How honored her life would feel
To be the one who tried;
In the clarity of thoughts
Where, now, worry could not thrive.
(This is the introduction of the first series to be published on this blog.
“Ten poems, flowing in rhyme and style, centering on only one thing. Love. A boundless true, first… and last…love. An only love, with the humble singularity that accompanies fairy-tale like moments, this is the first series about the Author’s lifelong romance. From the realization of true love met in the introduction, to the understanding that he will always inspire her poetic thoughts in the conclusion- this series is a confessional of honeymoon-like hope and deeply sacrificial discoveries.”
His birthday is in the middle of this month, and in celebration of him, and all that he has added to my life, here is #1 out of 10 poems to be released this month.)
I have loved another
More than I have loved self.
I considered all the
Rights and wrongs
Of putting this love on
A shelf,
Flattened between
Ivory pages and ink
Sitting on the shelf…
But I have loved another
And I cannot
Keep it to
Myself.
